Received some very sad news about Tom Wyles. Tom passed away on monday feb 8th after suffering a devastating heart attack. I first met Tom five years ago when I was researching my book on the battle of Stamford Bridge and we decided together to set up the Battle of Stamford Bridge Heritage Society, we both felt the same about the neglect and loss of such an important heritage site. We also had the same passion for history despite him being a monkey hanger.....
As there is nothing to make the news any happier so all l want to say is that Tom was irreplaceable and the society and indeed the village has a hole that will never be filled.
We will continue with the good solid foundations he helped to lay and indeed the lasting memory will be in everything we do from now on.Cheers tom mate, your passion and enthusiasm will be sorely missed.
